How to arrange a garden in front of the house?

While each of us more or less knows what should be on the property behind the house - intensively green lawns, even the smallest vegetable beds, fruit shrubs and trees, ornamental plants, as well as garden gazebos and terraces with comfortable furniture, we do not necessarily have an idea for the arrangement of the space in front of the building.

After all, the entrance to the plot, access to the house and the immediate surroundings are our business card, the first element that our guests come into contact with.

That is why it is so important that the the front garden was well-kept, stylistically coherent and functional. Therefore, let's consider how to organize the area between the fence and the house.

Surface and vegetation

First of all, as part of the space in front of the house, you need to plan a space for a sufficiently wide, i.e. at least three-meter driveway, additional parking for guests, as well as a path leading to the front door.

The material with which we decide to lay the ground is not without significance. We can choose between stone paving, concrete cubes or paving clinker, each of which is solid and durable. Therefore, all you have to do is think about what will best suit the style of your home and garden. Finally, in its front part, plants cannot be missing.

Certainly, evergreen shrubs and shrubs, which are a natural decoration regardless of the season, will be perfect here. It won't hurt to add seasonal deciduous trees, such as beautiful magnolias of the Atlas variety, among them. In the spring, they will delight with buds and flowers, in the summer with lively greenery, and in the fall they will sparkle with various shades of red, yellow and gold.

Organization of space in front of the house depending on the size of the area

Undoubtedly, the factor that will largely determine the arrangement of the area in front of the house is its size. Plots where the building and the entrance to it are located at a considerable distance from the fence give a lot of room for maneuvering.

Then, the driveway does not have to run straight from the gate to the garage, but it can curve delicate arches. It is worth remembering that the longer the road, it should also be wider, at least four meters.

The path leading to the front door can be an effective slalom between beautiful, decorative plants. On the other hand, in small areas, one shrub is often enough, e.g. a small Whipcord thuja, a flowerbed with perennials or a climber climbing the wall.
